the Collective Intelligence Project

MISSION

The CIP Observations Backend Channel serves as a dedicated research platform for studying the Collective Intelligence Project led by Divya Siddarth, analyzing its methodologies, outcomes, and applications through the lens of network theory. This channel enables NTARI volunteers to systematically document observations, conduct comparative analysis, and generate insights that advance our understanding of collective intelligence frameworks while contributing to NTARI's broader mission of developing systems for online global cooperatives.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Systematically document and analyze the methodologies, tools, and approaches employed by the Collective Intelligence Project

  2. Identify network theory principles in application within CIP's work and evaluate their effectiveness

  3. Generate comparative analyses between CIP's approaches and NTARI's own implementation of network theory

  4. Develop multimedia research outputs that contribute to public understanding of collective intelligence

  5. Create actionable insights that can inform NTARI's program development and implementation strategies

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and document CIP publications, events, and public initiatives

  • Analyze CIP methodologies through structured frameworks based on network theory

  • Create regular research briefs and multimedia content synthesizing observations

  • Facilitate discussions among volunteers about patterns, insights, and applications

  • Coordinate with Lead Research Assistants to ensure alignment with research standards

  • Implement the MOKR framework for all research activities

  • Submit monthly observation records to the NTARI Secretary as required by the Bylaws

  • Maintain ethical standards in external project observation and analysis

  • Archive significant findings for cross-reference with other NTARI research initiatives

GOVERNANCE

This channel operates within the Network Society Program's three-tiered volunteer framework, with designated Lead Research Assistants overseeing content quality and research integrity. All research activities must align with NTARI's Bylaws, particularly Article III regarding documentation requirements and quarterly mission standards. Research outputs will undergo peer review through the processes outlined in the Network Society Program Charter, with particular attention to maintaining objectivity and scientific integrity in observations of external projects.

EVALUATION METRICS

  1. Quantity and quality of documented observations and analyses

  2. Depth and relevance of network theory applications identified in CIP work

  3. Accessibility and impact of multimedia research outputs

  4. Integration of insights into other NTARI programs and initiatives

  5. Adherence to research ethics and objectivity standards

  6. Alignment with NTARI's quarterly mission standards

  7. Engagement levels of channel participants in collaborative analysis

This objective statement serves as the guiding framework for all volunteers participating in the CIP Observations Backend Channel and may be amended through processes outlined in the Network Society Program Charter.
