Êţÿmø Backend Channel Objective Statement


MISSION

The Êţÿmø Channel serves as NTARI's multilingual bridge, facilitating translation of organizational content and exploring the network dynamics of language translation as both art and science. We enable global access to NTARI's research and programs by transforming content across linguistic boundaries while developing translation protocols that embody network theory principles in practice.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Translate critical NTARI content into multiple languages to expand global accessibility

  2. Support other channels in presenting multimedia research in diverse languages and presentation styles

  3. Develop standardized translation protocols informed by network theory principles

  4. Study the art and science of translation through collaborative research

  5. Build a community of volunteer translators across languages and cultural contexts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain translation priorities aligned with quarterly mission standards

  • Coordinate with the Network Society Program to support multilingual research outputs

  • Develop glossaries of NTARI-specific terminology across target languages

  • Implement quality assurance processes for translated content

  • Document translation methodologies and best practices

  • Research the intersection of network theory and translation studies

  • Provide cultural context adaptation guidance for global audiences

  • Support volunteer translators through training and resources

  • Collaborate with the Management Channel to integrate translations into NTARI.org

  • Submit monthly translation activity records to the NTARI Secretary

GOVERNANCE

This channel operates within the Network Society Program's three-tiered volunteer framework, with Lead Research Assistants specialized in translation studies coordinating activities in accordance with the Charter. All translation work aligns with NTARI's Bylaws, particularly the Non-Discrimination Policy ensuring inclusive language practices. The channel implements the MOKR (Mission-Objective-Key Results) framework for all translation projects and research initiatives, with transparent documentation and peer review processes.
