About NTARI Volunteers
The Network Theory Applied Research Institute (NTARI) is led and operated by citizen scientists dedicated to developing systems, protocols, and programs for online global cooperatives inspired by network theory. Through various programs our community of volunteers actively welcome and empower others in the digital age.
Our program offers hands-on experience in multiple capacities:
-
General Research Volunteers work with Lead Research Assistants (LRAs) to conduct objective research and create multimedia content
-
General Service Volunteers collaborate with Lead Support Volunteers (LSVs) to implement practical solutions
-
Translation volunteers help make resources accessible in diverse languages worldwide
-
Other specialized volunteers coordinate activities and guide participant development
All volunteers contribute through our NTARI Backend platform (ntari.org/backend) and may have their work showcased via the Node.Nexus media outlet. Through these experiences, you'll develop valuable skills in collective intelligence building, media production, scientific discourse, and collaborative technologies while making meaningful contributions to global cooperative systems.

How Volunteering in Citizen Science Enhances a Resume and Career Experience
Participation in NTARI's volunteer program offers valuable professional development opportunities that strengthen your resume, develop specialized skills, and expand your career network. As a volunteer applying network theory to real-world challenges, you'll demonstrate initiative, analytical thinking, and commitment to innovation. Here's how NTARI volunteering specifically enhances your professional profile:
-
Structured Skill Development: Through our MOKR framework (Mission-Objective-Key Results), you'll gain documented experience in collaborative research methodologies, media production, and scientific discourse. Whether working under Lead Research Assistants (LRAs) or Lead Support Volunteers (LSVs), you'll develop technical capabilities in open-source software, data analysis, or network implementation that translate directly to workplace environments.
-
Published Contributions: Your research and multimedia content will be featured on our Node.Nexus platform, supported by a $10,000 monthly Google Ad Grant. Our ads will create a visible portfolio of your work that prospective employers can review.
-
Professional Networking: Weekly meetings and collaboration through the NTARI Backend connect you with diverse practitioners across multiple programs creating relationships with professionals in both technical and research domains.
-
Practical Implementation Experience: Service volunteers gain hands-on experience deploying network systems in real communities, providing tangible examples of project implementation for your resume.
-
Specialized Qualification Path: Successful volunteers can progress to specialized roles like Lead Research Assistant or Lead Support Volunteer, developing leadership skills that employers highly value.
Your contributions to NTARI's mission of developing systems for online global cooperatives demonstrate your commitment to innovative problem-solving and collaborative approaches—qualities increasingly sought across industries adapting to networked organizational models.
