I want to be honest with anyone even vaguely considering being part of this group. It isn't fun, rewarding or praiseworthy work we will be doing here. Deciphering context from text is hard enough, but works like the Bible are written across multiple languages. The words of Jesus were spoken in Aramaic, written in Greek and translated again for you. Retracing the fine details of information lost during such transfers is tedious at best, but when youemerge from such study you will find yourself understanding the world with a much clearer light. That does make it worth it

I've observed this kind of work from Dr. Timothy Mackie of the Bibleproject.com. I believe what he has done for the Bible should be done for every religion. My argument is based on Babel. The Bible contains an etiology called Babel describing the branching of human languages and disbursion across the planet. Babel is not the only name for this concept. It describes early human awareness of origin and a disbursion event from which diverse languages emerged. There are many stories and themes echoed in other ancient texts, including the very old Epic of Gilgamesh.

My hypothesis is, when we examine ancient texts we will see reflections of the Divine Council's influence and structure and discover through them (whatever they are or represent) the source and power of sin.

According to Christian faith, whatever this "sin" is, has already been defeated by Jesus Christ, we just have to systematically and lovingly prove it from human society.
